I am also heavily involved in knitting wool sweaters for children in Afghanistan through the Afghans For Afghans projects. I have also made baby sweaters, socks & hats for this project. The organization just finished collecting around 500 wool shawls to give to new mothers as they are leaving the hospital with new babies. Volunteer knitters and crocheters should get involved with this project.
