So, what’s with the symbol on this page????
The Zia Indians of New Mexico regard the Sun as a sacred symbol. Their symbol, a red circle with groups of rays pointing in four directions, is painted on ceremonial vases, drawn on the ground around campfires, and used to introduce newborns to the Sun.
The symbol is featured on the Flag of New Mexico and in the design of the New Mexico State Capitol. I have lived in the state of New Mexico for over 18 years!

Music:
This YouTube video shows a man singing a song for his baby daughter. The man, Matthew Andrae, is a singer songwriter and lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Santa Fe is about a 1/2 hour drive from Pecos...so he's a local musician. Click here to read his story in the Santa Fe New Mexican. Please listen & enjoy!
Movies:
I love "chick flicks"! What can I say?? I hardly ever get to see them now though. My daughter grew up and moved away out of the house. I'm "stuck" at home with a husband and 2 teenage boys who want to watch Action, Action, Action movies and who hate chick flicks! I try to find time to get together with my daughter at least once a month so that we can watch the "chick flicks".
Books:
My favorite books are the pop-up books I received from my kids and husband over the past few years, or Christmas and on my birthday. I started a collection and have some beautiful books. They're amazing. Pop-up book making is a true art.
Heroes/Idols:
I admire people who make it big, via bootstrap, and don't get a big head after they've made it. It's cool, also, if they help others to succeed as well. Know anyone like that? I like intelligent, caring, giving, humble folks. I hope to be able to give back in the future and receive more joy from giving than from receiving....if I'm in the position to do so.
