I was so tempted
felt emotions that hummed.
I wanted to taste the moment
smell the scent
smother the lion in all who pursued me.
I touched the moon,
and then I slept there.
I thought I heard you singing.
It was way past midnight,
but I still decided to wait,
grant you entrance into my images of rain
and memories of storms.
I searched for a compass held inside my pocket,
that's where I keep my treasures.
I pulled out reams of paper first
poetry carefully written
and there
between the folds
tightly clad
my compass
my moral measuring tool.
I held it to the light
yet
could not decipher the rainbows
nor the thunder.
Tiny angels sing
I heard them in the colors
I held one in my hand as she was weeping.
I am that golden child she breathed
I am the smoke beyond the river
I am the token of the dragon
the dew
and the lace
that lines the trees
I am the unspoken poem.
Grace
I hold its measures
set music to my dancing
I am the figure that makes a shadow
behind a blinded curtain.
Beyond this day
and far off into the distance
I think I see her treasure.
I released her
set her on her way to finding answers
and moons to sleep on.
I thought all
wrote about it
then picked up my pencils and left.

My website is a journey of the creative spirit. It tells of the ups and downs of finding oneself while doing what is in the heart... painting, realizing, wondering. It is a trail for the inner child to wander on, who is somehow on the road to finding out the secrets available. Everything is there for the listening, just by taking pause. It is often painful and yet the rewards are without question worth the struggle.
Tori Amos.. I have been listening to her for three paintings now.
On MySpace I have the music of Cling, which fits the viewing of my art very well.
The Stage:
--------------------------
Pink Floyd is the greatest band EVER!
----------------------------
------------------------------
I love my husband Dennis' music.
He is an AMAZING SONGWRITER!
------------------------------
How I set the stage to paint if it is not Pink Floyd, my husband Dennis singing in the other room .........
It depends on the series of paintings I am working on. Sometimes it requires Pink Floyd or something wilder like Nine Inch Nails to meet the passion desired.
I start my fantasy art of exoticwoman paintings, usually Enigma, Dead Can Dance or something from Loreena McKennitt or honestly sometimes it calls for something much wilder.

Movies:
"Camille Claudel",
A French subtitled film... so fantastic!
Fargo, Pulp Fiction
TV:
Used to watch Meekat Manner until Shakespeare disappeared.. and now.. omg.. Flower was killed. I just can't even handle it!!
CSI Miami and Las Vegas.
Boston Legal.. so darn cute!
I am an American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance, Project Runway watcher too. I can't resist.
I watch(listen really) a lot of political shows. We live in very dangerous times. I think Bush 'created' danger rather than doing anything to cure it. If people do not get involved then I fear for America. Not long ago we Americans lost the right of Habias Corpus, without even a whisper of protest from Americans. I wrote this article on the subject that I posted on my blog.
I WATCH KEITH OLBERMANN on MSNBC.
"Habeas Corpus 'Was' One of Our Most Precious Gifts As Americans"

Books:
"The Poisenwood Bible", a remarkable book about the Congo and a family of missionaries. I must admit that I did not want to read this book because I am not into books of Christian content. This is not a book about that though. It is about the human spirit.
-----------------------------
"Steppenwolf";"Siddhartha", I LOVE Hermann Hesse.
"The Four Agreements" by Miguel Ruiz is truly a life changing book. It is simple and puts life into perspective.
-------------------------
"The Artist's Way" .. this is a fantastic book. I actually 'did' all the homework the book requires, like handwriting a 3 page journal each day. You cannot understand who other people are if you do not know who you are first. "The Vein of Gold", Julia Cameron's second book on the journey towards artistic self discovery requires a full biography. I read that book but must confess I only got to high school on my bio. I must pick that up again.
-------------------------------
"How To Win Friends and Influence People" ... many things about this book are useful in life. The biggest thing I learned was that people are not interested in what 'you' have to say about anything. This is sad but true....get them talking about 'themselves' and they walk away thinking 'you' are a great conversationalist. You learn a lot about them while they know 'nothing' about you. Funny!

Heroes/Idols:
My heroes include anyone who stands up for a cause because it is the right thing to do.. not because it is going with the flow and popular. If people had been 'reading, researching and just pain thinking.. we would not be in Iraq. We should have flooded the streets.. ALL of us!
I appreciate the COURAGE of Keith Olbermann,
who speaks when others are pitifully silent.
Oprah Winfrey, thank you Oprah for all you do and are.
The rising star Barack Obama, originally from Hawaii.
