Social networks
So here it is. Recently social networks going globally huge. So many social networking sites offering revenues to their users. As i may little mark, the idea of sharing revenue with users seem quite an idea to the social networking webmasters. Why social networks grow big, so popular? To quote Jeff Dedrick
"Social networking websites are, for the most part, easy to use. Most sites are easy to navigate. In fact, many require little knowledge of the Internet. In addition to being easy to navigate, social networking websites also make it easier to meet new people online. There are many Internet users who would love to make new friends online; however, that can sometimes be difficult to do" .
Some sites starts in early 2005 when internet business grow big and putting people to spin their head to find fresh ideas in order to make their bussiness continue. This time was when the platform of web 2.0 application tested to see how it works with bussinesses plans. The platforms itself little known got its attention around 2004. Those days seemed like yesterday, and i never realize how finally it grew so big. it will not stop soon. trust me! because a trend that went global needs at least a decade to fade.
This proved by the facts that any of the old social networking sites still work and gain more users, namely friendster, myspace, facebook,, qyao, ZenZuu, apsense, socialvibe, netvibes web 2 upgrade, yuwie, . And i'm sure anyone have more list compared to what i have mentioned. Squidoo here is one of them im sure :) so people has join some of this social networks. but do they notice that there are growing social networks.
YouSayToo - Beta
Recently i was into YousayToo (YST). I end up there from a friend's blog which was a part of a social networking site also. I've been in YousayToo about a week or less. The social networks that shares their revenues with their user started 2-3 years ago and it went awesome. And regarding that, yousaytoo seems to be another growing social network. Social networks runs mostly free services. Not necessarily always but free services attract users way better.
So, YouSayToo runs two main services. The first is the social network site and the second one is the affiliate program, separated. I think the separation is for security purposes. And this would give any users who join the affiliate program a save sense. And that is very important!
The non affiliate site offers revenues for users. Specially if you have valid adsense program. This goes with conditions, just go ahead, as good people logically won't abuse themselves. Manner is important when socializing. The look of page is general, the top menus and two columns. The left side for personal content and the right side shows the recent active users, buzzes, hot posts, and a section of tags.
The writing section is called Jurnal (the other one called buzz). The jurnal is a place in YST where users encouraged to post artikel. But if i may suggest read the terms of use, as YST have restrictions about what user MAY NOT write. I got my first post deleted :) because it's against the terms of use. I was not necessarily promote a site. The admin gave me a notice. I laughed, by that mistake i learn to 'play by the rules'.
What user can do with their posts is they can promote their jurnal with a link provided by YST, e.g. www.yousaytoo.com/jenengku . In this section alone, can be personalized by adding pictures, another user as common known, able to put comments and votes for posts. Any personal link would shown here.
Some people probably don't write often nor have ideas to write about specific things, so YST provides a simple and easy-to-use microblog, a combo of shoutbox and blog, any user can subscr i pt to a microblog, or popular terms used YST as Buzz/Buzzer. This microblog is addictive! so make sure if you want to really use it ;) To specificly view activities of microblog, users have their personal permalink to their Buzz/Buzer page. e.g : www.yousaytoo.com/buzzer/jenengku.
Users can create own buzz/buzzer and join groups. Mainly there are four sources of revenue for active users. It comes from posting jurnal, games, buzz/microblog, and referring friends. For active users within the community by posting Jurnal, the revenue up to $1.500 monthly, WoW! That kicks! And the revenue goes the same for Games.
It's like the offers of this two sources weren't enough, YST also give rewards for buzzer and earn shares from referral. Basicly, as other social networks that grow bigger by more and more active users within the community, YST encouraged users to invite their friends. It becomes easier to build online community when real friends join the network. And the good part is the more friends join, the more revenue users can earn. But mostly, any of us would be more comfortable thinking about our friends join the networks than thinking about making revenue out of our friends. Anyway, don't bother, that's just a system, and YST appreciating your hardwork, that's all :) More, YST goes mobile (m.yousaytoo.com) too.this feature is great when use for microblogging, Like i said, microblog is addictive!
YouSayToo Affiliate Program
Another way to earn more from YouSayToo is joining the affiliate.yousaytoo.com. As above mentioned, the affiliate program is a separated account. There are sources within the affiliate programs for anyone who join the affiliate. And like most of affiliate programs users are obligate to have Paypal account if their revshare reaches $150 and want to get paid. Actually $ 150 seems to big to cash out, but that's not something to be worried of for any active users. This won't well if anyone just signup and do nothing with things to be done.
User account. Any user should familiar with this section because this section is the one of important sources both for YST and for users themselves. Interestingly, Terms of Use was put here. So I understand that YST want to make sure that users pay attention to this. The content was about the users, payouts, payment programs, and other important comments.
Campaigns, banners (YST affiliate program has wonderful banners). They look so warm. Banners are mostly so colourful. YST does the same except that YST applying 'warm colour management'.
Reports & Tools. This section definitely important. Here users can find quick report, transactions, traffic, top referring, and adsense report if users applying their adsense ID to YST. And the rest put there in case any users finding problems, so they can contact YST admin and get help. Well, social networks has more to offer now. Surfing the net is more fun these days. The chances is unlimited, depends on how users can take advantage of what is positive. |
