I think showing her proof of the correction was the best thing to do.
I get email from certain people that are outdated, a hoax or just bad info. It's usually the same handful of people that keep passing on info that was wrong 5 years ago!
The newest one is 'the anti-christ will be a Moslem in his 40's' in reference to Obama.
That's not anywhere in the Bible. Someone made it up and people are too lazy to look for themselves.
The Internet makes it very simple to Google something and find it!
I was also removed from a friends list when I tried to correct him. This person was an anti Obama person, and was spreading untruthful email around and I too get the correct information from scoops.com. As for me if have wrong info in a blog and I'm corrected, that comment goes in the blog and I keep the friend. What she did was very petty.
I think she didn't want to hear it. But her loss. It's one thing if you go over there and correct her and it's another thing if you can cite proof. I actually did that recently myself and didn't get deleted. Some people don't want to hear what they don't want to hear!
Hello McSpock or McSpooky I think when we have discussions about anything we all should remember who it is that is going to have the last word any way. That being said I think if we would look at the moral issues in todays society and compare GOD's WORD and believe me GOD's WORD will be the judge in the end we should all take care and answer 4 questions. 1. Where did we come from? 2. Why are we here? 3. Where are we going? 4. How do you know? Until next time keep up the good work.....He is coming soon. John
It wasn't rude to correct her.to begin with, political information shouldn't be posted unless you researched it & know it's correct. She's obviously was one of those people who grew up never have being offended. She'll get over it ...
Some people just don't like debate and being told that they are wrong. I corrected people also when the picture of Sarah Palin in the bikini and rifle was going around. I told them that that wasn't her. All they would say then was, it could have been. This election is on FIRE! I find it very interesting.
I think you did the right thing, and the reaction of your 'friend' was pretty immature. I've faced the same type of a reaction for posting an article on my site. Some people seem to just filter the information that they want to believe without allowing anything else in... It's a sad thing.
I think Move On would be thrilled at how many times they came up in the replies. As a certified lunatic who happens to still be a Republican, I feel compelled to stand up (not too much) for Tiny Dancer. I'm sure she believed what she was putting in her blog was true because she read it or heard it somewhere and she didn't like being corrected. Not every person can accept being told they are wrong and some don't handle it as well as even they'd like. I'm sure after Obama gets sworn in and things in the country turn around you will be able to put this behind you and share your awesomeness with her again.
I think the correction was the right thing to do. If someone can not take the correction for what it is then they need to re-evaluate the friendship with the one trying to help them with there mistakes. Friends are there to help friends...
That is just my opinion and I approve this message...
at least she told you. i got remove by a friend and had no idea why. and i get scared to right stuff. but what the hell. anyways. i just want say. who cares. like really. i barely have time to tag back the friends i got on time who do visit my page. .......ok am sleepy it's late
I suppose the closer we get to the election the more people will express their opinions. I find it difficult to imagine that people can not discuss politics in a civil manner however I suppose it has been proven they can not. If individuals are so shallow as to take comments made during the final countdown personally, then I would suspect that their political views are shallow as well. As Forrest Gump would say' that's all I have to say about that'
I have been deleted by a few who found my views to be something they didn't like-or my profile changes not there liking. Politics is a VERY strong emotional subject for most of us. Screaming matches are common. And so is misinformation. Republicans are running scared this election and for good reason. Though I tend to vote for the person, not the party. History shows its time for a democrat. The deficit MUST be reduced. As far as losing a friend-there are plenty more in the pool my friend. Peace and best wishes
My father always told me there are 3 things never to discuss unless you are prepared to fight, politics, religion and money. He said he liked me too much.
Well, I think that's just plain immature, how silly, Ya know I don't think she was your friend to begin with then..Don't worry about it, Even if I liked Obama I would still like you...lol..lol..Sillyness!
Just move on. Politics, race and religion as a topic of conversation or blog can easily open a can of worms that leave many hard feelings. I approach these topics very cautiously if at all. Usually I avoid these topics all together unless I know the person very well.
