ABOUT ME--ASTROLOGY - MY PLANET SIGN -

Planets in Sign

Planets in Signs (Tropical Zodiac)
Sun in Cancer
The Sun, which stands for one's individuality, shines into the waters where the Moon waits to receive and reflect. Emotions and feelings, the province of the Moon, can thus be the matrix for all of life's experiences. Things can be felt deeply, sinking into the waters and moving in the depths, possibly to resurface later. In the immediate moment, the Moon can reflect emotions which are influenced by other people - for the Moon is highly plastic.

There is a willingness and openness as well as the nurturing, protective qualities of the Moon-which are symbolically associated with the mother. All of this can bring a great softness and sensitivity.

Since Cancer is ruled by the Moon, any aspects between the Sun and the Moon are likely to be particularly significant in this chart.

Moon in Cancer
The Moon is here in her own sign (as the ruler of Cancer), so all the qualities of the Moon are intensified. It is in dignity or honour, in astrological terminology.

The person's emotions and feelings can be one of the most important features in their life. They are likely to be sensitive, with deep emotions and experiences on the feeling level. This position is in favour of an excellent memory, since the Moon is to do with reflection, and of an easy going attitude to life - comfort may be deemed more important than achievement.

Moon in Cancer is perhaps the most nurturing of all configurations - nurturing both emotionally and physically. The person can be kind and sociable - qualities associated with the Moon - and may focus their attention on the mother, the home, the family. In a female nativity the person could make a very loving mother, although may need to take care not to smother the child.

If the person is living the higher qualities associated with the Moon, they can be very intuitive and have strong psychic abilities.

Mercury in Leo
The mind, related to Mercury, can focus and concentrate, being in Leo, a fixed sign, ruled by the Sun, which relates to direction.

The fixed nature of the sign also indicates persistence. The mind gains a certain stability in this position, so the person may at times be slow to make up their mind, but once made up it can be steady and unwavering.

The Sun has a natural authority, and Mercury likes to speak; so the combination can indicate a confidence when it comes to voicing opinions. In any communications the person can convey an authoritative tone.

The Sun is also related to organising power, purpose, and enthusiasm, so Mercury here can make for good organisational skills and leadership qualities.

The Sun will-power and confidence, combined with the Mercury mind, can indicate problem-solving abilities.

Mercury is said to be in its fall in this sign, so its power may not reach its full potential, according to the astrological tradition.

Venus in Leo
In the shining sign of Leo, Venus bestows a warm-hearted, sunny disposition.

The values of the Sun (ruler of Leo) and of Venus, planet of love, beauty and harmony, combine together harmoniously.

The nobility of the Sun and the giving nature of Venus indicates an open, generous, loyal, magnanimous temperament.

These are the 2 planets of love: the Sun as in love for God and Self-love, and Venus as in ALL loves.

Mars in Virgo
Mercury, ruler of Virgo, brings logic to the Mars drive. Thus the raw libido associated with Mars is modified through Virgo bringing a degree of discretion and organisation to the impulsiveness. Virgo being an earth sign, Mars gains a certain stability and groundedness here.

The arrow of Mars can make the thinking quick, sharp and with an ability to be analytical and critical.

Mars is related to direction and decision-making. The Virgo attention to detail can result in great precision, which could manifest in technical skills. It could also be skills in the medical profession, since one of Virgo's concerns is with health.

Jupiter in Libra
This is a very happy position for Jupiter, the planet associated with benevolence and optimism, in a sign ruled by Venus, planet of love and harmony. There can be warm-hearted, harmonious relationships and successful partnerships. The person can be sociable and good-natured.

They can be well suited for work in public relations, and any situations that call for dealing with the public.

There can be an interest in the arts, literature, music, and in everything that uplifts the Spirit.

Saturn in Cancer
Saturn's work is to create form. Cancer is ruled by the Moon, which relates to flow, emotions and feelings. So Saturn here has its work cut out in trying to structure things which inherently lack form. There can be strong self-control when it comes to the emotional life.

The influence of the Moon - a nurturing planetary force - indicates the person can be considerate of others and their feelings.

The nature of this sign is not particularly congenial to Saturn - considered 'in detriment' in the sign opposite one it naturally rules.

Uranus in Gemini
Uranus is a slow-moving planet, staying in one sign for years, so it is appropriate to consider these influences affecting masses of people rather than one individual.

Planet of sudden changes and super-fast intelligence, Uranus is very much at home here in the sign ruled by Mercury, planet of the mind. Since Uranus is the planet of esotericism, the mind can be interested in a wide range of esoteric literature. The versatile Mercury mind can have the freedom to move extraordinarily fast, with flashes of Uranus genius and a lightning grasp of new concepts and ideas. An original thinker, this is a position for pioneering in the fields of science, electronics and communications.

Neptune in Libra
Taking years to move through one sign, Neptune here is more relevant for a generation of people than for one individual.

Neptune is the planet of dissolution and idealism. In a sign ruled by Venus, planet of love and harmony, there can be a search for the ideal partner, perhaps one with an artistic or creative temperament, or with refined or spiritual values. Whilst it may be an attempt to reach mystical union through the relationship, it can be a way to seek to dissolve into the universal consciousness with which Neptune is associated.

Pluto in Leo
Pluto, planet of transformations in the unconscious, takes many years to traverse one sign of the zodiac. This position is thus more relevant to a generation of people than to one individual.

Leo is ruled by the Sun, which is related to the individuality, the core of a person, the little ego and the Higher Self. By combining the symbolism of Sun and Pluto, it can suggest transformation processes from little ego to Higher Self.

North Node in Gemini, South Node in Sagittarius
The South Node in the sign ruled by Jupiter, planet of expansion and benevolence, suggests past lives in which there has been good fortune and plenty of opportunities, where a breadth of knowledge has been acquired, and in which the person may have spread their energy generously (if not extravagantly).

The North Node in Gemini, ruled by Mercury, is in favour of developing the mental processes.

It can be important to focus the intelligence more precisely by acquiring specific skills in an area that allows for the mental faculties to be sharpened. Working in the fields of communication, writing, negotiation, or where the values of Mercury can be implemented, can be called for. Unless there is this focus, the Jupiterian expansion can eventually dissipate without the realisations that could follow.
