An insight into the wierd and wonderful life of an English Engineer.
Finally! 10:39 2nd March
So I am finally back at Beijing Airport on my way home.  It has been a very long day, we were up at 6am so that we could visit the Great Wall of China – It is now 10pm, and there are another couple of hours before my flight.

I actually quite like airports; they are great for people watching.  It is probably one of the few places where you can watch people with so many agendas, hidden or not.  In fact, the only thing they do have in common, in that they all have a flight somewhere.

The only thing I hate about airports is the queuing.  I can cope with the waiting as it gives you a chance to switch off; it is just those endless queues.  We all know that is something the Chinese do not comprehend.  The great thing is that I was first in line at check in.  I have asked for a window seat on an exit row for both legs of the trip.  It will be interesting to see what I actually get.

Anyhow, I am sat in a Starbucks, thank god as; I have been without a decent coffee fix for days.  Even I get sick of beer and tea eventually.  So the place is filling up and the noise is rising – it almost drowns out the sound of the coffee machine.

Entering in and out of the store is the usual mix of people; businessmen, couples the odd family and of course groups of friends.  The friends in this case appear to be too largish old ladies who appear to be living here.  They have been slumped in the corner for ages nestled into their books and the sofa.

The businessman is sat opposite me.  He is smartly dressed in shirt and tie.  I do not like to stereotype but he looks like your typical Asian doctor.  In between correcting the time on his watch, he is furtively writing in his large notebook.

The couple are also Asian.  They look Chinese and both are staring deeply into each other’s eyes.  Slim, fit, & sexy they both look very happy in each other’s company.  Their mannerisms and baggage indicate style and class.

Finally the family.  Three girls, a boy and the parents were sat at the of the room.  This has now separated with the children acquiring the sofa that the two ladies were sat on.  Around the age of 10-12, they appear to be content in each other’s company.

I have almost finished my coffee so I shall sign off now.

Interesting to observe people in places like that. Lots of emotions I find in airports.
I like to drink a cappucino on my own in a café. I actually think, observe or write more and it's nice. So you got back? How was your trip?
