The Fable of the Ant and the Grasshopper

This one is a little different.
Two Different Versions! Two Different Morals! (Be sure to read both. )
OLD VERSION:

The ant works hard in the sweltering heat all summer long, building his
house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays
the summer away.

Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed. 

The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.  
 

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be responsible for yourself!

MODERN VERSION:   

The ant works hard in the sweltering heat all summer long, building his
house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays
the summer away.

Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls NBC and the New York Times and
demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed
while others are cold and starving. 

NBC, The New York Times, CBS, PBS, CNN, and ABC all show up to provide pictures of the
shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home
with a table filled with food. America is stunned by the sharp contrast.

How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper
is allowed to suffer so?  

Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper, and everybody cries
when they sing, ' It's Not Easy Being Green .' Oprah calls Obama.

ACORN is contacted by the President and stages a demonstration in front of the
ant's house where the news stations film the group singing, "We shall overcome."
Then Van Jones leads the ACORN group in chants of "Down with the Capitalist Ant."  

Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid exclaim in an interview with Larry King that the
ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and both call for an
immediate tax hike on the ant to make what Biden calls "his fair share."

Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity Grasshopper Ant Act
retroactive to the beginning of the summer.

The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs
and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is
confiscated by the government. 

Eric Holder gets his old law firm to represent the grasshopper in a defamation
suit against the ant, and the case is tried before a panel of federal
judges that Obama has appointed from a list of single-parent welfare
recipients.

The ant loses the case. 

The story ends as we see the grasshopper finishing up the last bits of the
ant's food while the government house he is in, which just happens to be
the ant's old house, crumbles around him because he doesn't maintain it.

The ant has disappeared in the snow. The grasshopper is found dead in a
drug related incident and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a
gang of spiders who terrorize the once peaceful neighborhood. 

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be sure to vote in 2010!!

History teaches us nothing if it doesn't teach us that human beings have a great capacity for abusing other human beings. When this abuse is severe enough, and moves beyond the mistreatment of a few individuals, we call it a crime against humanity. Crimes against humanity generally refer to any large-scale atrocity committed against a group of innocent human beings. They are not crimes of passion, they are crimes of precision. They are not the result of accidental, momentary impulses, they are thought out and rationalized. The scale of such crimes cannot be carried out by individuals. They require the cooperation and consent of many, many people, and this is exactly what history shows us. The most notorious example, of course, is the Jewish Holocaust, in which six million European Jews were executed for their racial heritage.

Raphael Lemkin (1901-1959), a Polish-Jewish lawyer, is the man responsible for making the annihilation of entire people groups an international crime. In 1933, influenced by his knowledge of the slaughter of Armenians by the Turks in WWI and the recent slaughter of Christian Assyrians by Iraqis, he appeared before The Legal Council for the League of Nations in Madrid and proposed to make the extermination of human groups an international crime, calling such crimes "acts of barbarism". His proposal was not accepted. Ten years later, in 1943, he coined a new term, "genocide," in an effort to more specifically describe the Nazi attempt to annihilate entire ethnic groups. (The term first appeared in publication in 1944 in his Axis Rule in Occupied Europe in a chapter titled: "Genocide").

The word "genocide" combines the Greek word for race (geno) with the Latin word for killing (cide). The Nuremberg trials, which concluded in 1946, used Lemkin's term "genocide" in their indictment against top Nazi officials who were there convicted for "crimes against humanity". In 1948, the United Nations officially made genocide an international crime at the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide. The Convention defined genocide as any of a series of acts designed to "destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group." The acts listed include among others, causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group, imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group or forcibly transferring children out of the group.

Since then, the term "genocide" has been applied to many other historic and contemporary crimes against humanity (retroactively to the Armenian Genocide). In some instances, such as Pol Pot's Cambodian genocide, the victims have been targeted for non-racial reasons. This broadening definition of genocide is reflected in Webster's New World Encyclopedia:

The deliberate and systematic destruction of a national, racial, religious, political, cultural, ethnic, or other group defined by the exterminators as undesirable.

Such definition, in fact, is broad enough to include abortion, and some pro-life groups have made a compelling case that abortion is genocide. Abortion is certainly deliberate and systematic. There are roughly two abortions for every nine live births in America (in New York City, there are almost seven abortions for every nine live births). Abortions are performed in a vast network of clinics around the country, more than 3,000 a day, 1.21 million a year, and more than 45 million since abortion was legalized in 1973. Furthermore, abortion targets a very specific group of human beings: unwanted, unborn children, a victim class that is defined by the pro-abortion mantra, "Every child, a Wanted Child". Their "final solution" for unwanted, unborn children is abortion.

While the appropriateness of calling abortion "genocide" depends on what definition of genocide you are using, it is a plain and simple fact that abortion is the systematic destruction of millions of human beings. Genocide or not, abortion, like the Jewish Holocaust and like the mistreatment of native and African-Americans, is a phenomena which dehumanizes a group of human beings so as to justify their elimination. This nation, and the world as a whole, has a sad legacy of dehumanizing people who have something we want or get in our way.

The reason that some people take such offense at comparing abortion to past crimes against humanity is the same reason that the white establishment of America was scandalized when Dr. Martin Luther King compared the abuse of black Americans to the Holocaust. It is easy to condemn crimes that are far away (either by distance or time), it is much harder to condemn them when they sit right in your back yard. Abortion supporters are infuriated at the notion that abortion is comparable to the Holocaust because they incessantly argue that the unborn aren't people. This is exactly the same argument that is always made to justify crimes against humanity. They're not really people. This is what Hitler said. This is what America said when it used to count blacks as 3/5 of a person. If we can't compare atrocities past to atrocities present, then the term "never again" loses all its meaning.

At the end of the day, if the unborn are people (and they are), then abortion is not only comparable to past crimes against humanity, it is, by sheer volume, the greatest holocaust of all.

Dan Ruddy, a presidential historian, who has a book coming out next year on Theodore Roosevelt, recently pointed out on NewsMax.com just how rare Obama is among presidents.

He said we have no idea of where his birthplace actually is. Ruddy noted that, of our unbroken line of 43 men who have served as president, only Zachary Taylor and Andrew Jackson -- both born on the frontier -- have disputed birth sites. Every other president has some commemoration for his place of birth... except for Barack Obama.

In fact, his family has given two different hospitals in Hawaii where he was alleged to have been born. Frankly, the evidence that Barack Hussein Obama was born in Africa -- not Hawaii as he claims -- and, therefore, cannot serve as the President of the United States, is compelling.

First, Mr. Obama's refusal to release his birth certificate. If he has nothing to hide, what does he gain by refusing to allow the press to see the birth certificate?

Second, the contention by Barack Obama's half-sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng, that Mr. Obama was born in a particular Hawaiian hospital, only to claim that it was in a different hospital several years later. Plus, there is the recent letter that Mr. Obama wrote, contradicting his previous statements as to which hospital that he claims to have been born in, in Hawaii.

Third, the erecting of a wall around Barack Obama's grandmother, the late Madelyn Dunham, by Mr. Obama, thus cutting off access to the one person then alive who would have been present if he was actually born in Hawaii.

Fourth, the posting of law enforcement personnel at the two hospitals in Honolulu mentioned by Ms. Soetoro-Ng in an effort to block the press from discovering the truth about the birth certificate.

Fifth, a taped phone conversation with Mr. Obama's step-grandmother, who claims that she was present at his birth... in what is now called Kenya!

Sixth, the "birth certificate" posted on the Obama campaign website and other liberal websites. Since Barack Obama was born in 1961, long before laser printers and office computers, his original birth certificate would be typewritten ... unlike the laser printed "copy" purported to be genuine.

Barack Obama, according to a published report, has spent over one million dollars so far to STOP anyone from seeing ANY of his actual identification documents, or many other documents, such as:

• His actual long-form birth certificate (NOT an easily-forged electronic copy of a short-form document that is not even officially accepted as proof of birth by the State of Hawaii)

• His passport files
• His University of Chicago Law School scholarly articles
• His Harvard Law School records
• His Columbia University records
• His Columbia University senior thesis, "Soviet Nuclear Disarmament"
• His Occidental College records, including information on any financial aid that he received
• His Punahou School records, where Mr. Obama attended from the fifth grade until he finished high school
• His Noelani Elementary School records, where he attended kindergarten (according to the Hawaii Department of Education, students must submit a birth certificate to register -- but parents may bring a passport or student visa if the child is from a foreign country)
• His Complete files and schedules of his years as an Illinois state senator from 1997 to 2004
• Mr. Obama's client list from during his time in private practice with the Chicago law firm of Davis, Miner, Barnhill and Gallard
• His Illinois State Bar Association records
• His Baptism records
• The Obama/Dunham marriage license
• The Soetoro/Dunham marriage license
• His adoption records

Over half of the public in the United States are aware of this issue, and over forty percent want the matter resolved.

I was suppose to work this past weekend. I never made it to work...

And it all started with a poopy diaper!

My grandson is six months old and starting to eat solid food. Apparently his digestive system is in fine working order because he produced an OVERFLOWING amount of poop Saturday morning. My daughter and I were oblivious to this when she picked him up out of his bouncey seat and cuddled him in her arms. Suddenly my attention was taken away from the computer when she yelled....MOOOOOM! come help me! She had taken him into the bedroom to change him, and realized she was covered down the front and on her arms with massive amounts of baby poop. I came rushing in to help, and got covered with baby poop too. Now, I have a weird sense of humor...and when I saw the look on the poor little guys face (astonishment best describes it) I started to laugh...and my daughter, who's sense of cleanliness far exceeds mine, began to dance around going...ooooh, ooooh, yuck....!

I remained calm, told her to go run a bath for her and her very messy son...and I would finish the diaper clean up. I got that done, her and him settled in the bath and returned to my computer. Now, there are two little girls aged 5 and 4 taking this all in...and being the normal American family that we are....the bathroom became the gathering place for these two sisters and the messy baby boy and mom.

All was well, until I went in to gather up the now clean and very wet little boy so mom could finish washing herself up. As I turned to walk away from the tub with said baby in my hands, I tripped over the five year old who had sat down right at my feet. Not wanting to crush the six month old slippery baby that I had in my hands, I buckled my knees and held him up like an offering to the gods. Instead of crushing him, my full weight came down on my unsuspecting granddaughter, my foot still wedged under her (backwards somehow) and there was a large crash followed by a scream from all three of us at once! My naked daughter jumped from the tub...and as I cried, the baby cried and my granddaughter cried (all very loud and piercing) she took the baby from me and attempted to remove her daughter from under me.

The four year old, being the wise little girl she is...ran for the cell phone.

It was the most pitiful sight I could ever imagine...and once I knew the baby and the five year old were not hurt....just scared beyond belief...I began to laugh. That is until when I tried to stand up...I realized my big toe on my left foot was throbbing and very weird looking. My daughter continued to assess and console the kids and being a great multi tasker...took the cell phone from the four year old and called her husband who was across the street helping his dad with an outdoor project. When my son in law came in...he saw a naked wife, holding a naked baby, and a his daughter clinging to her mother - looking at gramma on the floor laughing and then crying, alternatingly.

My poor son in law didn't know whether to get his wife a towel to wrap in or console the crying kids until he realized his father was in the house and coming to the door of the bathroom to see if he could help. Yes, we are normal folks. That is if you have any doubts. The towel was grabbed and wrapped around baby and wife.

Now, I do not like to run to the doctors for everything....but when my son in law tried to help me up, I realized I was hurt. Not your run of the mill hurt...but PAINFULLY hurt. I agreed I should go get x rays.

My son in law is also a knight in shinning armour type....and offered to carry his mother in law to the van for the trip to the hospital. lol....no way! There are four stairs going down off the porch and I had visions of falling again, this time with my poor son in law under me instead of one of his offspring!

We made it to the hospital, I was given some pain pills and since I very rarely take even tylenol - let alone PAIN PILLS...I was soon looped! There were kids running all over the place, I was trying to keep my elevated foot from being knocked into...and my baby grandson was wanting to nurse...so he could make another poopy diaper...since the last one made life so interesting, I guess. lol We sat there for four hours. X rays can be painfull...when your hurt body part is twisted and turned in several directions. Pain pills apparently wear off after four hours.

My toe was not broken, but was badly sprained. I was given more of those strong pain pills to take home...and we all ended up asleep in front of the TV....with me in the place of honor....the EASY chair...with an ice pack on my elevated foot.

The next morning...as I attempted to walk across the living room on my crutches...I wobbled a bit (woozy from Vicodin and still hurting toe) and Kayle, the five year year old I had landed on the day before jumped up from the floor where she was coloring...and ran for the couch. I looked at her and she had a look of fear on her face...and said to me....I don't want gramma to fall on me again!

That was my weekend....how was yours?

They were the same seventy years ago. They are the same today. They all are Sinisterists.
It is not easy for normal people like us to see that Sinisterists are all the same and there is very good reason for this difficulty: Sinisterists do not believe in truth; they believe in lying. Sinisterists do not like words having real and permanent meaning. They like words to be just like truncheons - weapons used to beat and savage the innocent. They use words like camouflage to create pleasant sounding or nasty sounding things but whose names have nothing to do with reality. Sinisterists seriously call monstrous tyrannies by names like 'The People's Democratic Republic of Korea' or hate filled christophobes by names like 'The American Civil Liberties Union'. There is only one faith of Sinisterism, and that faith is The Lie. They lie for one purpose only: brutal, direct power over our bodies and our minds. The cannot win unless we fail to see behind the camouflage of false words and the masks of lies.
Blessedly, God has given us history and has given us written records as a permanent immunization against Sinisterism. Only the truth shall set us free. Only the word can save us from the abyss of Sinisterism.
 

A Ojibwa Legend

This is a traditional story from the Ojibwa nation.

Coyote was walking along a lake and saw a flock of ducks, which put him in the mood for a good duck dinner. So he stuffed a bag full of grass and walked past the ducks, stepping lively and singing a catchy tune. "Where are you going?" asked one of the ducks.

 

 

"I am going to a circle," replied Coyote. "What's in the bag?" asked the duck.

 

 

"Songs that I am bringing to the circle," replied Coyote.

 

 

"Oh, please sing your songs for us," the ducks all said. "I'm very busy"

 

 

"Please please, please, please ..." "I'm running late ," "Please, please, please, please ".

"Oh, alright! 

 

 

I'll sing a song for you, but I need your help. All of you stand in three lines. The fattest ones in the front, those in the middle who are neither fat nor thin, and the thin ones in back.

 

 

All of you close your eyes and dance and sing as loud as you can. Don't anyone open your eyes or stop singing, because my songs are very powerful and if you do that you may go blind!

Is everyone ready?" "We are!" replied the ducks, and they fell into lines and began dancing and singing along with Coyote's tune.

 

 

Coyote moved up and down the line, thumping the ducks on the head and stuffing them into his bag. The ducks were singing and dancing so hard that no one could hear the thumps or know what was happening.

 

 

This would have gone on till none were left, if not for one scraggly duck in the back who opened his eyes and saw what was going on. "Hey, he's going to get us all!" cried the scraggly one.

 

 

At this, the other surviving ducks opened their eyes and made their getaway. Coyote wasn't too upset; he already had a lot of ducks in his bag. He went home and ate good for a good while.

 

 

The ducks went home and mourned their dead, and gave thanks to The Great Duck that one of them had been wise enough to open his eyes, and that the rest of them had been wise enough to listen to the one who gave warning.

 

Nature shows us God's plan and will for our lives.

In nature- fire and water change the shape and energy of the earth. Water flowing over rock will wear it down...water is powerful.

Fire takes apart the structure of something from within and releases it's energy, fire is very powerful! Water works from without...on the outside of the thing that is changed, fire works from within and changes the very structure of the thing worked on.

The book of Romans tells me: O man, who art thou that replies against God? Shall the thing formed say to Him that formed it, Why have you made me this way? Has not the potter power over the clay....

The beauty and usefulness of the vessel formed cannot show forth without first passing through the fire. It is the same with metal...ores found in the earth in their natural state are not beautiful or useful until they pass through the refining fire. Fire changes them from the inside out...making them entirely new things...with clay as with ores...to be beautiful and useful...they must pass through the fire...and if they could resist or speak...I'm sure they would say..."why is this happening?" Just as we do when we must "pass through the fire". It is within our power as free will agents to refuse to pass through the fire...we can run, we can deny, we can rebel.

But it is better to go through the fire, allow it to purify us, and come out stronger, more useful and more beautiful.

Fire is used in the scr i ptures as symbols for the purifying forces. The impurities are "burnt" away and what is left, if we go through the fire willingly, is a vessel of beauty and usefulness.
